writting my speach!

We ahve fianally come to the stage when we are up to actually writing our speaches I chose my topic to be on about how I dont like to write a speach and espesally to say it out loud infront of everyone. we tried this new thing it is for our first paragraph besides the introduction it goes like this...

 My group for introduction and transition:
  The reason why we are going to have a fun day is so that the new students will feel ccomfertable at our school that helps induction when they are leaving one place to come to another . So we have came up with a plan for next year when the new yr 7s and 8s come to our school. We are designing a brochure for the new students and there parents it contains a map of the school, staff, photos, and most importantly a schedule for there first FUN day at SAMS  hopefully the kids will find  sams to be a nice and safe enviroment .

today we did induction and transition and we all sat as a group and discussed what our plans are for when the principles come and we are making brochures and all sorts...

Speaches

We are starting to write a speach now but before we write the speach we are writing notes and things about how to not be shy and to be confident and how to to engage the audience and difrerent things like that and we also have to think about about the speach topic this topic also has to be interesting to ALL the audience.

Table tenNis!!!

Today we did table tennis and we had to look up on the internet the rules of table tennis and also some teqniques
i found out some things that I never knew before and one of the things that i never knew before was that if you
win you can choose either what side of the table that you want to play on or who gets to serve... and another thing
that i learnt was that you have to score 11 to win!!!

Induction and transtion

Issue: we have a number of student’s feelings unsafe about S.a.m.s because parents think that we would set a bad example for little children like New Year 7 and 8.

Minor:
• How can we make our sams students participate in sams activities?
• Why do parents feel unsafe with letting their children in role at sams?
• What should we do to make parents and there children feel welcome to sams?
• What could sams do to make them safe?
• How could we make there parents feel more comfortable about bringing there student to saint Andrews?
• Could we help them to feel comfortable by coming to there school?
• How could primary kids be involed with older students?
• How could we make parents be involed in the situation at sams?
• How could the induction be?
• How could we help the community get involed with our school

Big Question:
How can we make parents and new student feel welcome and safe at sams.

Today we had a reliever teacher named Mrs Night and we had a writing test we had to write a story about our first day of school and I think that I did a good job with it.

Spelling test!!! :)

Today we did a spelling test with Miss Edwards and I got 100% and so that was cool. Our class also went into the media hub and we went on story jumper or storyburst and we made up some quick stories and it was cool we could upload pictures to the story and we could just make the story up from the top of our head... :D

Tech, 2 visitors... Drawing !!!:D

Today we set our goals for this week and I hope that i can accomplish them. We also had Tech which I am making a bag with Miss Hull and it is cool. We also had 2 visitors come into our school and we did some drawings about mistakes and about confidents in your drawing and in yourself. We drew some cartoon characters step by step with him and they turned ou very good... :D

Today room 5 and room 6 went in the MPR to do another session with the principal of Pukete school and he didnt end up turning up so we did it with our own principal and Miss Thompson and we got to answer some of our questions...

Today me and Shanice did a poster on induction and translation and we had to wrirte the definition and the examples of them and shaneyce did one and I did one. And I learnt that the definition of translation is being moved from 1 place to another and induction is you have beeen moved I think..... eg. I am changing from school to work.

We did a skype with Anne Baxton today and we talked about translation and intruduction and we listened to how she works her schools programme and we aked her some questions and we also wrote down some notes to take away and look at.

The Earthquake down in Christchurch has destroyed nearly every home some people/ most people have lost there homes. They have to now shower in schools and some people are still in there pjs since ethat morning!!!xo

Safety Cyber ... Thursday!!!

Well today we watched anither clip on cyber Safety and I learnt not to click on things that arent neccesary or are just silly waiting for you to click on because it will just cause a virus and your coomputer will turn frozen and also things in your computer will maybe be deleted and stuff that isint very nice can happen to... so even if its tempting or annoying dont let it fool you... :D

InDoOr NetBall...

Today the year 9s and 10s went to indoor netball and we versed Barklay school and my team WON came 1st out of every1 it was so cool ... because my team is just the BEST!!! thats why... and we got some chocalate ( what a waste of loosing all that weight :D) and some coke. and also some drink bottles so thats cool. and yeah so we played netball and 1 like always :D :D and then we went back to school with a smile and then watched a movie.. so yeah that was my cool day today!!! cya...

Cyber Safety Monday!!!

today Iwatched a clip on Cyber safety and it was about on the net if you have an account on facebook or bebo or anything your mates or other people can get a hold of them and do silly stuff with them like change the photo and make it silly or stupid. so other people can use your stuff and they cand shange them to something that you dont like... :D

Thursday...

Today we were finishing of our narrative story and we have to write about a wierd family that has a secret and it gets revealed in the end. Writing a narrative you have to start it of with the orientation the orientation has to have the setting of the story and basicly the people you have to let the audience know a little bit about the story. Then the story has a problem wich involves heaps then a resoloution/ conclusion.So today as a group me and my group wtote a quick little narrative and that was HEAPS!!! of fun!~!`!

Wednesday...

Today we made a flip video of our maths. We used the decipipes, the decipipes help us with fractions and decimals.. and today Miss Edwards gave me, Kahn and Caleb some maths problems to work out and we used the decipipes to help us solve it. We videoed it at the same time. The decipipes helped us alot with working the maths problems out. :D

Monday!!

Today we had Tech/ music and we were aloud to do anything in music. So me, Maria and Storm played on the drums, microphones and singstar and we also listened to old music because Miss Walsh was teaching us. . . :D And we also set our new goals for the week and the goal for maths that i hope to acheive for the end of the week is to learn how to add and subtract using decimals and fractions witth the decipipes... :D

Wednesday!!!

Today we had miss Thompson as our teacher and we did some work on metaphors and heaps of writing but i still had fun.We also had netball practice after school and it finished at 5:30

Today I had fun doing maths. Our whole shchool does a maths quiz an we came 2nd that was cool and yeah so my favourite thing i did today besides hanging with my friends was maths. . . :D And we also had Miss Thompson come in and it was cool we did heaps of work that has to do with writing and i still had fun. . . :D

Monday!!!

Well today we had fun because we went into tech and i was in music. I fianally picked up the beat in drumming and it was awesome!!!. Its also maths week and there is a challenge between all our classrooms and we havnt came 1st yet the closest to 1st is 2cnd wich is pretty good!

Today I had netball practice from 3:30 to 5:00 and it was fun heaps of peactice and training and i hope we have a good game on Saturay. . . :D

Today we learnt the structure of a narrative and it was really cool and interesting we talked through the steps and later on this week we will be writing our own narrative.

*My goals in maths is to continue to practice maming and ordering fractions.

The steps I need to take are:
.I will learn how to name 1/4, 1/2, 1/5, 1/3, 1/6, 1

My goal in reading was to improve my comprehension so that I didn’t have to read the paragraph over again and still not know what the paragraph was all about. My goal was to focus and take a step further in my comprehension. I have achieved my goal because I have been reading more than I usually do at home and school. I have now found I don’t have to read a paragraph over again. My next goal in reading will be reading at a higher level. I will need to practice reading to achieve this.

My goal in writing was to create a piece of writing that made sense and flowed. I am working towards this goal by reading other books, in particular their paragraph structure and how they flow.

My goal in numeracy was to work on improving my basic facts. I have achieved this goal by practicing my basic facts each day and getting 100% on my basic facts tests. My next goal in numeracy is to improve my knowledge of fractions. I will need to work hard to do this.

My life as a butterfly.

I am a little egg and I am going to explain my life cycle to you.

I am a tiny, solid, and innocent little egg hoping one day to become a beautiful butterfly.

I am now a slimy, squishy caterpillar crawling all over the trees meeting other caterpillars I am still waiting to one day be a outstanding butterfly.

I am now squished in a cocoon that is silky and solid prepared and ready to become a butterfly.

The day has finally come I am now a beautiful butterfly flying through the air and off into the sunset.

MY ROOM MY CASTLE

Hello my name is Iesha and I am going to explain my room and how I would like my dream room to look.

So my room is purple because I like the colour purple. My duvet is purple and I have two matching pillows with a matching cushion then I have purple curtains. You are probably thinking purple, purple, purple but it’s all blended in and it looks cool.
I have a set of drawers that have been varnished then there is a dressing table on the opposite side shelf next to my bed where it keeps my books and stuff. Also I have a petticoat table.

MY DREAM ROOM
Well my favourite colour is purple so my colour theme will be purple. I would probably like a little more room and paint my room to make my room more appealing.

I would like to have automatic lights so that when I clicked my fingers and the lights would turn off.

I would also like a ensuite with a shower. And that is my dream room.

Why would I want a bedroom makeover? The truth is that it would be cool to get a bedroom makeover but I like the way my room is.
